Dear Student,

Welcome to this page, which has been created especially for students taking part in our credit-entry schemes. The information you find here will help you to learn more about IBS and to prepare for the year you will hopefully spend with us in Budapest.  Enjoy browsing this page and e-mail us if you have any questions, requests or remarks!

What does credit entry mean?

Credit-entry means that you join IBS for the remaining part of your BA studies, to receive an Oxford Brookes University degree in addition to your home degree (if included in the agreement). This opportunity is only open to students who study at one of our credit-entry partner universities, are registered on the credit-entry scheme, complete most of their studies successfully at home, and speak English at the required level.

What is the technique of credit entry?

First, we set up an “equivalency table”, which states equivalencies between modules (subjects) you study at home and modules of the IBS programme you will go on to. This table is approved by IBS, OBU and your university. As you (registered students) progress in your studies, your marks are sent to IBS every semester, and we tick off every module whose equivalent you have completed at home. When you come to IBS, you will study those modules which are part of the IBS programme but you have not yet studied (possibly because no equivalent exists in your home university).

What about the reverse: will IBS credits be accepted in my university?

For detailed information on this you should contact your institutional co-ordinator.

What fees will I have to pay?

There are special fees and discounts for credit-entry students. To find out about your fees please contact info@ibs-b.hu.
